Gradeway Teacher's suite is a complete desktop program focused on classroom management, covering several common topics for teachers: attendance, assessment, student list, lessons and more. It's worth to mention the reports module, wherein you can generate a variety of predefined reports with pretty horizontal bars, like Missing Classes, Full Students and Missing Assignments.
Generally speaking, the program works fine, but the GUI could be improved just a little bit, maybe with some icons and/or images. The only issue I had using this program was some Javascript errors when loading the developer's home page (there is an embedded web browser control on the startup screen). It's not a big thing, but they appear every time I open the program.
As a final word, although I have no problems using this program, I consider that a web-based solution (like Moodle) is far better than desktop-based solutions like this one. The advantages are pretty obvious: for one thing, they are very scalable.
Nevertheless, it's a good starting point for any teacher worried about managing his courses with minimum effort: this program is freeware, it can be installed in a snap, and is not resource-consuming.
